Structural Strength, Enhanced Barrier, Improved Coating Performance

Performance Benefits:

Much like the characteristics described in paper, Curran® will bring the same benefits to 3D geometries in moulded fibre. The use of Curran® at a 2% to 5% load rate in the furnish for wet moulded fibre can improve strength, reduce porosity, and deliver a smoother surface.

Strength for Performance, Material Savings and Production Efficiency

Often the strength in moulded fiber is determined by the part geometry. Adding Curran® to the fiber can enhance strength enabling engineers to deploy the benefits in a targeted way to achieve design objectives with a reduced part weight. Weight reductions deliver raw material savings, cube optimization, and cycle time improvements.

Reduced Porosity for Enhanced Barrier

Reducing porosity helps to slow the absorption for wet and greasy foods. Reduced porosity is also beneficial for high-speed mechanized automation.

Curran® in moulded fibre is often a key ingredient to help brands make the pivot from plastics to a natural, renewable, and recyclable fibre alternative.

Moving from plastics to fiber requires both technical performance and a consumer experience that aligns with their expectations. While CelluComp might not make the molded fibre components, Curran® is often the secret ingredients that make molded fibre parts perform better. Curran® can help make molded fibre components that are exceptionally smooth, strong where they need to be, and provide the barrier that brands need.
