Prior to CelluComp, Christian held the position of CEO at EDUN, a company developing socially responsible and sustainable clothing and owned, in part, by LVMH . Christian has direct experience working with farmers and producing and marketing finished products. Christian has also held senior management positions with Ralph Lauren, Lacoste (Directeur Générale) and Disney Consumer Products (European Licensing Director) and has extensive experience in product development, manufacturing, marketing and licensing. Christian graduated from Princeton University.

David is an engineer who has carried out extensive work in moulding bio-composite materials and has published many articles in this subject, including in the Royal Society of London. David studied for his undergraduate degree in Zoology at the University of Reading where he received 1st class honors. He later received his PhD from the University of Reading where he specialised in the Biomechanics of Genetically Modified Plant tissues. Along with Eric, David has managed and operated the CelluComp business from the beginning.

Eric is a Chartered Scientist, an MBA graduate (Henley), has a Doctorate in the Synthesis and Characterisation of Liquid Crystal Polymers from the University of Reading and is a member of the Royal Chemistry Society. Eric held Postdoctoral Research Fellowships at the University of Reading in the Centre for Polymer Science (Optical switching) and the Centre for Biomimetics (Mutable Collagen), before joining DERA as a Senior Scientist. Eric has also worked as an independent consultant and has run CelluComp from the beginning, along with Dr David Hepworth.

Gary Robinson is CelluComp’s Chief Revenue Officer leading global business development. Gary is a recognized leader in advancing Sustainability for consumer goods. His professional experiences include major brands, retailers, and packaging providers such as Kraft Foods, The Home Depot, Newell Rubbermaid, and Billerud. Gary brings a comprehensive perspective to CelluComp with functional experience in global supply chain development, procurement, quality assurance, marketing, purchasing, R&D, new product development, and public affairs. These experiences will help our customers and CelluComp collaborate to drive compelling innovations for market adoption. Gary can be frequently found volunteering in the community and in a variety of leadership boards and committees.

Chris Plotz is President, North America at CelluComp, where he leads the company’s North American operations, strategic growth, and commercialization efforts. He is responsible for advancing CelluComp’s presence in the North American market and overseeing the development of the company’s new manufacturing facility in Minnesota. His work focuses on scaling CelluComp’s Curran® technology, building manufacturing capabilities, developing strategic customer and industry relationships, and bringing sustainable materials and packaging solutions to market.

Chris has held leadership roles across the materials and packaging industries, with experience spanning global business development, product development, technology commercialization, and operational leadership. Prior to joining CelluComp, he held leadership positions with Minifibers, INDA, Parker Hannifin, and ITW Professional Brands. His experience includes developing new products and markets, leading business transformation initiatives, and working with customers and industry partners to bring new technologies to market.

Chris holds a Master of Textiles from North Carolina State University, an MBA from Rockhurst University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Stout. He is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and holds five U.S. patents.

Laura is the Head of Operations at CelluComp Limited’s UK site in Dalgety Bay, bringing over 14 years of dedicated leadership and strategic oversight to the organisation.

Following a successful military career, Laura transitioned into the scientific sector by returning to university to earn her degree in science. This unique blend of disciplined operational leadership and technical scientific expertise directly paved the way for her career at CelluComp.

In her role as Head of Operations, Laura manages a wide and diverse range of responsibilities. She oversees the daily operational core of the Dalgety Bay site while directing key administrative functions, human resources, and organisational strategy. Her adaptable leadership ensures that CelluComp's site processes and team structure remain robust, resilient, and fully aligned with the company’s core mission of delivering material change for good.

With over a decade of expertise in sustainable materials, Dr Craig Allan leads the development of Curran alongside his team in Scotland. Holding a PhD in biobased composite development and an MSc in Biotechnology, Craig seamlessly bridges the gap between academic precision and industrial application. 

Building on his extensive background at CelluComp, Craig directs the transition of bio-based innovations from initial prototyping to full industrial-scale production. As a specialist in high-performance materials, he focuses on rigorous experimental design and product optimisation, ensuring that sustainable solutions meet the exacting technical specifications and performance demands of the global paper and packaging industry.

Mike Wainscott is CelluComp's Chief Financial Officer, responsible for finance, IT, and administration across the group. He leads capital formation, financial reporting and controls, and the financial infrastructure supporting the company's move to commercial scale.

He has spent twenty years building and financing businesses that turn agricultural inputs into higher-value products, managing yield, quality, and natural variability while still meeting customer specifications and financial commitments. He cofounded Technology Crops International and spent fourteen years as its CFO and COO, building it into a global leader in contracted specialty crop production and ingredient supply, and engineering three separate exits from a single platform. As CFO of Benson Hill he built the financial and governance infrastructure that carried the company to the public markets. As CEO and CFO of Revol Greens he expanded the business from a single Minnesota greenhouse to a national leader in controlled environment agriculture, with leafy green production facilities across the country.

Across his career he has helped raise over $1 billion in private equity, venture, structured debt, and non-dilutive capital, and has executed buy-side and sell-side transactions across North America, Europe, and South America.

Mike is a CPA, CGMA, and CITP. He holds a B.S. in agricultural economics from the University of Kentucky and a B.S. in accounting from Guilford College.

Sam Flores-Moris is Plant Manager for CelluComp North America, leading manufacturing operations at the company’s Renville, Minnesota facility. He brings extensive operations leadership experience with a strong background in Lean manufacturing, productivity improvement, cost optimization, workforce development, and operational excellence across complex, multi-shift environments.

Before joining CelluComp, Sam held senior operations leadership roles with responsibility for production, maintenance, quality, distribution, safety, and financial performance. Throughout his career, he has led large operations, manufacturing start-ups and expansions, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing productivity, reducing operating costs, strengthening equipment reliability, and developing high-performing teams.

John is a private investor and was previously VP of research for Fidelity Management and Research Co. While there he led a research team responsible for the strategic direction and priorities of FMR research and spent much of his time investing in India. 

Prior to that, John worked as a senior equity analyst and director of research for Pioneer Asset Management, Boston. John also held the same job at MA. Montgomery Asset Management based in San Francisco. John completed a Graduate School of International and Public Affairs degree at Columbia University in New York, and did his undergraduate degree at Colgate University. John speaks fluent Japanese and has lived several years in Japan.

Ed Stevens is a serial entrepreneur, investor, and board member. He is the Founder & CEO of Scoot. Scoot is a next-generation platform for doing business live. Higher-quality interactions, rich conversational intelligence, and human+AI augmentation deliver better outcomes for both buyers and sellers at all stages of the customer journey. 

Ed is the Executive Chairman of DemandQ.ai. DemandQ provides AI-powered software that reduces demand (kW) during peak energy periods. Additionally, Ed serves on the board and is a member of the audit committee at Johnson Outdoors, a publicly-traded sporting goods business.

Michael Cragg is a principal and former Chairman of The Brattle Group which is an international economic consulting firm with 500 employees in 13 offices in North America, Europe, Chin and Australia. He is an expert witness who regularly testifies on economic and financial issues in antitrust, tax and securities cases. 

Dr. Cragg began his career as a Professor of Economics at Columbia University and the UCLA Andersen School of Management. He was also a consultant at RAND, and a Senior Economist in the Capital Markets Section of the Milken Institute. His research has been sponsored by a range of institutions and foundations including the NSF and NIH. Aside from being a director of The Brattle Group, he is also a director of DemandQ which is an integrated SaaS company that provides electricity demand management.

Randy is co-owner and originator of several agricultural businesses based in western Minnesota. His businesses range from crop production to feed and food processing. Randy brings extensive experience in transportation, agricultural commodities, logistics, and material handling. 

His experience working with agricultural supply chains and regional businesses provides valuable insight as CelluComp continues to develop its North American operations and manufacturing capabilities. Randy serves on the Board of Directors of CelluComp, where he provides practical business perspective and support for the company’s continued growth and commercialization of Curran®.
